Coronavirus Resource Kit

Google Doc with expansive list of resources

From the author: "This kit is a collectivized document that will be updated as more mutual aid projects and resources appear online...

This compilation features resources from disabled, queer, elderly, Asian, and indigenous people. Mutual aid projects from Seattle, Philadelphia, DC, Twin Cities, Boston, and Chicago have been added below.
We also recommend this other toolkit that has specific geographic sections and this incredible database of localized resources."

From the author, Adinawa Adjagbodjou:

Hi friends,

I hope everyone is starting to get settled and is taking care of themselves wherever you are. I know I'm speaking from my own experience and many others in saying that the last several days have been really difficult if not traumatic. As people begin to plan for and settle into their plans for the next couple of months, I just wanted to share an opportunity to continue making money for those who may be losing income as a result of no longer being able to regularly work on campus or otherwise. I have sent this before, but the organization just let me know that they are rolling out new hiring if you have not had a chance to apply yet. There is definitely no other gig that lets you make this much money so easily ($54 per class for one of my classes). As always, let me know if you have any questions I'm just a call away! Check it out below, and please put my name as a reference when you get hired.

-----------------Do you love to teach and want to make some extra $$$ from the convenience of your room?

Apply to teach at SetSail, an education startup that helps Chinese students develop core skills in critical thinking, English language arts, and public speaking. We work with students to improve their English abilities, prepare for interviews, and compete in debate and public speaking events. Lessons take place online and, for those in the US, typically happen in the mornings (EDT 7:00am-10:15am; EST 6:00a-9:15am) and Friday/Saturday evenings (EDT 8:00pm-11:15pm; EST 7:00pm-10:15pm). Teachers are required to teach at least three 1-1.5 hr classes per week. We seek to create long-term relationships between teachers and students and are looking for teachers that will work with students for at least 6 months and ideally multiple years. Compensation is $30+ per hour taught.

We are looking for applicants who are passionate about education and excited to make a difference in kids' lives. Timeliness and reliability are a must. If interested, please send your resume to teachercoordinator@setsail.us. Be sure to note experiences you have had related to teaching and the class content mentioned above (e.g., tutoring, debate team, writing competitions). Teachers must be native English speakers and do not need to speak Mandarin.

--------------------

Praying for everyone's health and safety!

Best,
