Marissa Garcia - President
Marissa is a junior concentrating in Integrative Biology with a secondary in Earth & Planetary Sciences. She has previously served as Chief Operating Officer, New England Aquarium Project Leader, and Event Coordinator and has been a member of the CI Suriname and Nature Conservancy projects. She considers conservation to be the pulse behind her research in marine bioacoustics, wherein she studies the vocalizations of the North Atlantic Right Whale, which currently has a population fewer than 411. She strives to use the soundscapes of the sea to better inform environmental and marine policy in support of conservation. She strongly believes the roles of scientist and communicator can no longer be separate and therefore also dedicates her time to being Editor-in-Chief for the Harvard Independent, co-producer of TIDE, a podcast investigating the climate crisis, and a writing intern for the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). In her spare time, you can catch her coffeehouse hopping, unabashedly on the hunt for maple oat milk lattes.
Mushtaaq Ali- Chief Operating Officer
Mushtaaq is a junior concentrating in Integrative Biology with a minor in Environmental Science and Public Policy. For HCCS she is a previous Project Leader for Harvard Forest as well as a previous member of the World Wildlife Fund project. She’s moved around a bit, but considers Massachusetts to be her home. A newcomer to the world of nature, she has quickly fallen in love with conservation and what it represents in regard to ecology, public policy, and social justice. On campus you can find her in many places, almost always sitting somewhere scrolling through Twitter, coffee in hand.
Juhee Goyal - Project Manager
Juhee is a sophomore concentrating in Bioengineering and Integrative Biology. She has served as Project Leader for the Kasiisi Project, Events Coordinator, and Member of the Harvard Forest Project. Having lived in California for half of her life and Central India for the latter half, she has continuously fallen in love with the wildlife and biodiversity of both countries. Conservation, the biology of ecosystems, and environmental policy has always been areas that have held much importance to her.
Natalia Fuentes - Marketing Director
Natalia is a sophomore concentrating in Integrative Biology with a secondary in Ethnicity, Migration, and Rights. With HCCS, she has served as Event Coordinator, and as a member of the World Wildlife Fund and Kasiisi projects. She's a proud central Mainer grateful to have grown up around old evergreen forests and woodland animals, and is excited to be using her love for wildlife and conservation to promote the society's events and messages to the Harvard and broader Boston community.
